Function Setting
Cleaning Mode Vigorously shakes the sensor in order to loosen
(and hopefully shake off) any dust particles that
might have migrated behind the fixed mirror.

Demo Mode Always greyed out. Is designed for retailers. You
can safely ignore this.
Remote Ctrl Enables the infrared receiver (located at the front
of the grip) for use with an optional IR remote
control. It uses extra battery power so keep this off
if you're not using it. (Section 9.13)
HDMI Settings Brings you to three HDMI-related menus, including
one that controls resolutions. (Section 9.13)

Function Setting
USB Connection How do you want your camera to appear to your
computer when tethered via USB? I go for “Mass
Storage” and I explain why in Section 9.15.
USB LUN Setting This has to do with the fact that the camera can
appear as multiple devices when plugged into your
computer. I have it set to Multi because the
manual vaguely says this is needed when used with
Sony’s software “PlayMemories Home”. Mac
