Now What? 121

           10) Once the transfer is finished, exit the app. The image(s) you just
transferred can be found in your usual pictures directory with whatever
picture browsing app you usually use. (Don’t you love instructions that
are extremely specific?) On my Android phone, I use the Gallery app,
and it’s in a subsubdirectory called “PlayMemories Mobile”.

TIP 1: The easiest way to exit out of connected mode is to just power down the
camera, and then exit the app on your phone.
TIP 2: If Wi-Fi is turned off on your smartphone, PlayMemories Mobile will
automatically re-enable it for the duration of the transfer, then will shut it down
            again upon app exit.

           4.4.2 REMOTE CONTROL WITH VIEWFINDER

                       nd
This is my 2 -favorite new feature, because it holds the possibility of
taking cools shots that were much more difficult to do previously. Think of
it as tethered shooting, but without the tether.

           If your smartphone has NFC
Turn your smartphone and the camera on and touch the “N” on the camera
to the NFC spot on your phone until you hear the “I found you!” sound.
The App starts on your phone and the camera automatically goes into "Ctrl
           w/ Smartphone" mode.
If your smartphone doesn’t have NFC

           Manually invoke MENU  1  Ctrl w/ Smartphone
You’ll see a screen similar to the one shown in Figure 4-8.

TIP: Unfortunately, although you can control things like focus points and other
parameters on OTHER Sony cameras that can be controlled with smartphones,
the A77 II offers no control whatsoever over any parameters – the camera
won't even focus first before taking a picture!!
But there's a work-around. Using the smartphone, hit the MODE icon in the
lower-left corner, then switch to Movie mode for a few seconds. The camera
will focus on something. Then switch back to Photo mode and shoot.
