Figure 5-69: With the Focus Magnifier, you tell it where you want to zoom in, and
then that area of the composition is magnified for critical focusing

to magnify?” Use the arrow buttons to move the rectangle around to
the subject of interest and hit the center of the controller wheel to
              confirm.
           3. The camera then magnifies just that portion of the image so you can see
when your subject is in critical focus when you turn your lens’ manual
              focusing ring.
           4. Want even greater magnification? Hit the center button, and the
magnification goes from 5.9x to 11.7x.
           5. Take your picture and exit the mode. Or, exit the Focus Magnifier
mode by pressing the shutter release button halfway, or just wait for the
function to to time out (as specified in MENU  1  Focus
              Magnification Time.

TIP #1: The Focus Magnifier function works in movie mode too!
TIP #2: The feature actually remembers where you placed the square last time
(assuming you haven't turned the camera off). This can be a time saver in a lot
            of situations.

TIP #3: If you also have Peaking Level enabled, you might need to set it to “High”
since this feature doesn’t always see contrast when set to high magnification.
