5.11 POWER RATIO
Menu Position MENU 3 Power Ratio
What it Does When the Flash Control setting (described above) is set to
“Manual Flash”, specifies the fixed-burst intensity
Recommended Setting [Not applicable]
Constraints Applies to pop-up flash only in P/A/S/M modes
This function goes hand-in-hand with the Flash Control setting described
above. When Flash Control is set to “Manual Flash”, it is this parameter
that determines just how much flash to output – from full power (1/1) to
1/16th power (1/16). If Flash Control is set to “ADI” or “Pre-flash TTL”,
then this option is greyed out.
Why would you ever want manual flash output when the camera offers not
one but two sophisticated real-time flash metering modes? I’ll give you
