1. Slot #12 - instead of “Shoot Mode” (which is pretty useless since you
can see the shoot mode just by looking at the exposure mode dial) I
changed it to “Quality” so I can quickly see if I’m in “X.Fine” or
“RAW+JPG” mode. (And then I assigned “Quality” to the “C” button
so I could change between the two even faster!)
2. Slot #11 is normally assigned to “Picture Effects” which I never use,
and so I changed it to “(Picture) SteadyShot” instead, for the times I’m
shooting on a tripod.

TIP: If you keep slots 7-12 assigned to “Not Set”, then the Fn menu will only
show you 6 squares instead of 12, as shown below.
