My Personal Camera Settings 49
Recording Menu 2
Function Setting
(Movie) File Format This lets you select which of two movie formats to
use. For a lot of reasons I use .mp4 for my family
videos. (Details and tradeoffs explained in Section
5.5)
(Movie) Record Setting This lets you choose more detail for the “(Movie)
File Format” setting above. If I have .mp4 selected,
then I choose “1440 x 1080 12M”. (Section 5.6)
Drive Mode “Single Shooting”, unless I’m shooting either sports
or grandchildren, in which case it’s “Continuous Hi”
(with a lot of image deletions afterward). (Section
5.7)
Flash Mode “Fill-Flash” is the mode I use when I'm not using
Wireless flash. (Section 5.8)
Flash Compensation I use "0" when the flash is the sole source of light in
a dark room, and -1 when used outdoors as fill
flash. (Section 5.9)
Flash Control ADI. The camera switches automatically to Pre-
flash TTL when the flash is either off camera or in
bounce mode. (Section 5.10.)

Function Setting

power = 1/16 . (Section 5.11)
Red Eye Reduction I hate this feature. “Off”. (Section 5.10)
AF-A Setup When the focus mode knob is set to "A", you can
have the camera automatically choose between
AF-S (single) or AF-C (Continuous). OR you can
