wish to change this for soccer / football games.
                                  (Section 5.17)
(Movie) AF Tracking Same as above, but for movies, and you have three
Duration settings to choose from instead of 5. My
                                  preference is "High".

Exposure Comp. You may wonder why this is even in a menu, since
it has a dedicated button. It’s there so it can be
one of the parameters that’s memorized in
Memory mode. Anyway, usually it’s set to zero
and I change it based on the effect I’m trying to
                                  achieve. (Section 5.16)
Exposure Step When you’re adjusting the exposure
compensation, do you want a single click of the dial
to change it by ½ stop (0.5 EV), or 1/3 of a stop (0.3
EV)? I choose “0.3 EV” because it lets me set my
most-often-used setting, which is 2/3rds of a stop
(something not attainable if 0.5 EV is chosen).

            Function Setting
ISO My default setting is usually Auto (with boundaries
set from 100 to 3200), then that’s one of the first
things I’ll change in the process of making the shot
                                  better. (Section 5.19).
Metering Mode Multi (short for “Multi-Segment Metering”) – this
breaks down the viewfinder and does a complex
analysis of the scene in order to get the exposure
right in the widest variety of conditions. If the
lighting is tricky and the Multi meter gets the
exposure wrong, I’ll lock the exposure via AEL
button and then make it brighter or darker via
                                  exposure compensation. (Section 5.21)
