STARTER MOTOR

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the battery box (page 21-6).
Remove the bolts [1] and starter motor [2].

Remove the O-ring [1].

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

• Replace the O-ring with a new one.
• Apply engine oil to the new O-ring.

DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY

The armature coil may be damaged if the magnet pulls the armature against the motor case.
