Remove the shift drum bearing setting bolt [1] and
washer [2]. CRF1000D shown:

Remove the shift drum bearing [1] and shift drum [2].

MAINSHAFT
Remove the shift forks/shift drum (page 14-15).
CRF1000D shown: [1]
Remove the mainshaft bearing set plate bolts [1] and
set plate [2].
