HYDRAULIC BRAKE
DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
• Be careful not to damage the piston sliding surface
• When removing the caliper piston with compressed
air, place a shop towel over the piston to prevent
damaging the piston and caliper body. Do not use
high pressure or bring the nozzle too close to the
fluid inlet.
• Install the piston with the opening toward the pads.
• Apply 0.4 g (0.01 oz) of silicone grease to the sliding
area of the caliper sleeve.
• Apply 0.4 g (0.01 oz) of silicone grease to the rear
brake caliper pin bolt sliding surface.

INSPECTION
Check the following parts for scoring, scratches,
deterioration, or damage.
– Caliper cylinder
– Caliper piston
Measure the parts according to HYDRAULIC BRAKE
SPECIFICATIONS (page 1-10) and replace if
necessary.
